
For the past eight years, Bruce Kirby has been at the helm of MEDEX, leading the company with seven consecutive years of double digit growth. Mr. Kirby’s dedication and business acumen have won him several awards, including the Maryland International Business Leadership Award, given to executives who exemplify entrepreneurial spirit, determination, creativity and cultural sensitivity. With more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry, Mr. Kirby has seen to it that MEDEX continues its dynamic growth and development, while maintaining the highest level of customer service possible.

Mr. Varlotta’s leadership has helped pave the way for significant changes within MEDEX over the past few years. With more than 30 years’ experience in both finance and accounting, Mr. Varlotta has effectively managed MEDEX services to comply with budgetary requirements. Before joining MEDEX, he grew a construction business to an $8 million enterprise and then became a financial consultant for several well-known companies such as Marriott. His entrepreneurial and consulting experience along with his creativity and management skills has been, and will continue to be, a valuable asset to MEDEX.

As one of MEDEX’s longest tenured employees, Linda McGee has been influential in the success of the company. During her almost 20 years at MEDEX, Ms. McGee worked her way from a college intern to President of MEDEX Insurance Services (MIS). She has been instrumental in the remarkable growth of the company, paving the way for MEDEX’s entrance into the corporate market and assisting in the creation of retail insurance services. Under her direction, MEDEX’s retail division continues to break previous sales records and is in the process of expanding and enhancing its products and services.

With more than 20 years of sales leadership experience in health services, consumer products and the travel assistance industry, Mike Roban makes an excellent addition to the MEDEX Senior Leadership Team. Mr. Roban oversees the expansion of our International and Domestic sales for corporate, scholastic, and USAID clients and actively integrates MEDEX services with our newly acquired security partner, ASI Group. He has a proven record in the assistance industry and has significant experience dealing with the Fortune 2500, scholastic institutions and government agencies. Mr. Roban has held key management positions at several major health care and consumer goods corporations.

Josianne Pennington brings more than twenty-five years of marketing and management experience to the MEDEX Global Group team. She joined MEDEX after serving eight years as the principal of Pennington & Associates, a strategic marketing consulting firm that worked in the financial, health and travel sectors. Ms. Pennington began her career at Time Inc. in New York, held top marketing positions for the American Heart Association and ran a multi-million dollar division of an international publishing company. She also served two years as President of the Board of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Maryland Affiliate, and is a member of the Healthcare Businesswoman’s Association.

With experience as a senior risk management executive, captive insurance administrator, insurance broker, international speaker and consultant, David Mair brings a unique perspective to the MEDEX client relations department. Prior to joining MEDEX, Mr. Mair spent 15 years at the United States Olympic Committee, a MEDEX client, and was president of the Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS), the largest association of professional risk managers worldwide. His in-depth and broad understanding of MEDEX clients allows the Client Relations Team to effectively serve and protect organizations and their travelers.

With more than 10 years of IT experience, Eddie Jenkins offers MEDEX fresh ideas in information technology. For five years, he worked with The Black & Decker Corporation, maintaining and managing their multi-million dollar website and the website for DeWalt. Mr. Jenkins has extensive knowledge of business systems, IT standards and policies, and information security and he played a key role in globalizing the Black & Decker Information Technology Department. Such experience is invaluable as Mr. Jenkins leads the way in fully integrating the technological platforms for MEDEX and our newly-acquired subsidiary, ASI Group. Mr. Jenkins is dedicated to ensuring that MEDEX clients have access to the information they need to ensure their health and safety abroad.
